School Sport Magazine recently published its Top 200 sporting schools of 2024, and we are delighted to have been placed at the 21st spot.

The chart celebrates the best sporting state and independent schools in the same list, compiling results from over 20 different sports and over 120 different events.

Mr King, Director of Sport, says, “We are delighted to again be recognised as one of the top 200 schools for Sport following one of the most successful seasons in our school’s history.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff, whose care for each individual and drive to deliver the best experience for all of our students, regardless of ability, is second to none; our parents for their ongoing support of our programme and of course, the students, who immerse themselves into the wide variety of sporting opportunities here at school. We are truly unique in the sheer number of students at Trinity who have now represented the school in the latter stages of competitions in two or more sports.”

The 2023-24 season was successful across multiple sports with: national wins in football and water polo; national runner-up prizes for hockey and rugby; county success in cricket; and success in highly competitive London championships for basketball and hockey.

It is wonderful to have the recognition for this success, but our primary aim is for students to discover a lifelong passion for sport and physical activity – and all the benefits that come with it – through the many opportunities at Trinity.

We encourage all students to get involved and try as many sports as possible, and are proud that 95% of our Junior, First and Second Years represent the school in at least one sport, as demonstrated by recently fielding U12A-L hockey teams for the first term in our history. We were also delighted when a group of students who had never represented the school in sport, did so for the first time as a volleyball team.

We believe that participation drives performance, and students benefit from playing a broad range of sports in terms of fitness and skills, but also the friendships they develop with team-mates. The memories they make on tours while representing the school will stay with them forever.

Behind every success is a community, and the unwavering support of Trinity parents is crucial: from driving students to fixtures and offering encouragement in difficult moments. Together, we’re building a legacy of sporting excellence, lifelong participation and using sport as a vehicle to develop values and character.
