Lower Sixth Trinity student Evan produced a standout performance at the 2026 Kent County Championships last weekend, returning from Medway Park in Gillingham with two county titles and two personal bests.

Competing for his club Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC, Evan lined up against some of the strongest athletes from across the county in both the 100m and 200m events at the prestigious championships, held on 9 and 10 May.

“The Kent County Championships took place in Gillingham this year, where the best athletes in Kent compete against each other,” Evan said. “I entered both the 100m and 200m, setting huge PBs in both with times of 10.90s and 22.28s respectively and becoming County Champion in both.”

Evan’s performances placed him among the leading young sprinters in the country. “With the 100m, I was unbeaten the whole day and now ranked eighth in Great Britain,” he added.

Blackheath & Bromley Harriers is one of the country’s oldest and most successful athletics clubs, with a strong history of developing elite athletes, including Olympians and international sprinters.

Despite his success on the county stage, Evan was happy to keep one eye on the next big event in the Trinity sporting calendar. Asked what comes next, he laughed: “I am of course looking forwards to Sports Day, which will be more interesting this year due to the house system.”

Beyond Trinity, Evan has ambitious goals for the future. “The main goal for my athletics is to go professional or continue to compete when I am at university as a student-athlete.”

Congratulations to Evan on an exceptional achievement and a brilliant weekend of racing. Next up is the Southern Athletics League (SAL) this weekend, one of the leading track and field competitions in the South of England, where clubs compete across a full programme of events throughout the summer season – good luck!
