One of our French teachers, Miss Sukiennik, has shared with us a video of a group of her Lower Sixth students speaking out β in French β against racism.
With the Black Lives Matter movement hitting the headlines in response to the tragic murder of George Floyd in the US, this is obviously a topical subject.
The message is delivered by the students via the popular video-sharing service, TikTok. The students share how we are all the same underneath our skin, whilst pointing to a skeleton, and pointing out that each and every one of us is also unique.
Miss Sukiennik explains: βIt is part of the French Lower Sixth syllabus to talk about exclusion and racism and I wanted to reward their work as well as delivering a positive message.β
We are proud that, at Trinity, our student roll is approximately 45% BAME; representing the diversity of South London in which we are based.
We’re impressed with those French accents, too. Dire non au racisme!
Bravo!
