Congratulations to our 1st XV Rugby team on their fantastic Semi Final win over Sherborne at Sixways.

They put in a superb display in the tournament, winning 29-12.

“They showed fantastic creativity and resilience to respond to the conditions of the game and work out ways to score,” said Mr Kench, Director of Sport. “It was testament to the internal drive of this group that on the pitch after the game they were pleased but already discussing areas of the game to improve and tweak ahead of the final.”

Mr Roberts, Head of Rugby, added: “The boys have been fantastic all season and have done a great job of continuing to make progress this term in preparation for the game. But more pleasing even than the Rugby they play on the pitch is how they have come together as a team. They support each other and understand how important their culture is to team success. They have already created some special memories that will last them a lifetime.”

We look forward to seeing them play at Twickenham, the home of England Rugby, on 16 March, where they will face Kirkham Grammar School in the final of the Schools Cup… Good luck!

"It was a great contest on Sunday, against tough opposition, who pushed us right to the end. We really enjoyed playing in front of such a lively crowd, who had all made such an effort to be there. This was a key factor in our success. We're so excited to step out onto the pitch at Twickenham and, hopefully, put in a performance which we can all be proud of."
