We are delighted to announce the Trinity Sports Players of the Month for January are JBug student Sunny and Lower Sixth student Pippa.
Mr Kench, Trinity’s Director for Sport, explains why each student has been selected for the award:
“Sunny has been a stand-out performer across multiple sports and is an incredibly positive influence on his team-mates. In Rugby and Rugby 7s Sunny is a balanced runner and shows fantastic evasive skills.
“In Hockey, he has made a really strong start to his Trinity career, representing the U11A team with distinction. In Football he has been a talismanic figure for his own age group, which has led to a call up to represent the year group above in the last 16 of the National Cup – testament to his natural talent. Away from these team sports, he has also found time to swim for the school.
“Well done Sunny on being awarded the Sportsman of the Month for January, for an incredibly busy and productive time so far in sport.”
Lower Sixth student Pippa has been awarded Sportswoman of the month for January.
Mr Kench says, “Pippa has earnt this award with her outstanding performances in Hockey where she has represented the school in both the 2nd XI and Girls’ 1st XI. Her attitude to training and wanting to get better is exemplary and this assiduous approach rubs off on those playing alongside her. As a Hockey player she is tenacious, and her skill set has led to standout performances on a regular basis.
“What has been equally pleasing to see is Pippa’s engagement in other sports where she has been keen to be involved in Rugby and Football. Again, this approach stands her out as a fantastic role model of a student actively engaged in sport.”
Congratulations to Pippa and Sunny.
