Mr Schofield, our Head of Cricket, has provided a round-up of our most recent cricket fixture, in which Trinity took on St Johns Leatherhead at U14 level and above.

He says: “Pleasing individual highlights included Orlando Riolo scoring 21 and taking 3 wickets – including a hattrick – for the 14Cs. In the 14Bs, Matthew Boyde took 3-19, which supplemented Lars Hansen’s 42 and Luke Rudman’s with the bat. The As scored 193-4 in their 30 overs with Bradshaw (86) and Roberts (55) putting on a 133 run partnership. Rishi Kanwar stifled the St Johns batting attempt with 4 wickets…

“Meanwhile, the U15s had a good morning up at Sandilands with runs for Charlie Carter (50 ret) and Mathar Mehmood (51*) and 3 wickets for Felix Gomulka in the B team. Dillen Patel-Ramcharran cleaned up the St Johns innings with a maiden 5 wicket haul for the A team. Contributions from Falero, Holman and Beadle made the run chase slightly easier for the lower order.

“The 2nd XI also deserve high praise for their commitment during their exams. Vice captain Sam Godfrey lead form the front with 60, well supported by a blistering 47 off 26 balls from Aarush Wangoo, which set St Johns 187 to win. The return of Joshua Bellamy to the side and opening the bowling with spin, saw the demise of the St Johns top order. Aditya Iyer entered the attack and took 4 wickets, including a hattrick, to end the game.

“Jay Evemy was in the runs again with 73* for the 1st XI, helping chase down the target of 166 with overs to spare and 5 wickets down. Leo Hollywood was the main contributor with the ball, taking 3 wickets for 22 runs and there was a nice moment for James Duffy, who took his first wicket for the school and at 1st XI level.”

Thanks and well done to all involved!
