Our U13s progressed to the semi-finals of the Surrey Cup on Wednesday as their campaign to retain the title they won last season continues.
After a dominant first half against St. Peter’s, Trinity took a 1-0 lead, following some excellent build-up play from Ollie Scarles and Rhys Gormley, which set up Omar Leon to score.
St. Peter’s scored two goals in quick succession during the second half. Trinity continued to push forward and equalised with ten minutes remaining. A foul outside the box gave Oliver Scarles a free-kick in a dangerous position, and he buried his shot into the top right hand corner of the goal.
With the game heading towards penalties, Trinity had one last opportunity from a corner. Scarles sent the ball in with pace which was met by Dan Brown with a powerful header to win the game in the final minute.
We now face Coombe Boys in the next round, which will be played after Easter. Good luck boys!
