Last week, on one of the hottest days of the year, Trinity’s Junior Triathlon was a fantastic display of determination, teamwork, and community spirit – all in aid of raising money for the Trinity Malawi Project.

The event saw boys from the Junior Year take part in teams of three, which each member taking on a different leg of the race. The triathlon was not only a fundraiser, but also served as the final event in the year-long interform competition, where the two Junior form groups have been battling it out across a number of challenges. With so much at stake, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and energy!

The boys picked their own teams, with some support from tutors, and brought in their own bikes for the event. Each team member completed a section of the triathlon: a 150-metre swim (approximately six lengths of the pool), a 3-kilometre cycle, and a 2-kilometre run around the school fields.

Teachers supported transitions between events, calling out team names and sending the next participant on their way – adding to the fun, relay-style format.

A huge congratulations to the winning team of Mikey W, Miles C, and Elias L from JT, who came in first place after a closely contested race. Their teamwork and perseverance were truly commendable.

Thank you to all staff, students, and families who supported the event. The JBugs raised a total of over £800 (including Gift Aid), which is a brilliant contribution to this year’s fundraising for the Trinity Malawi Project. Well done!
