Third Year student, Ansh Shetty, has coped with the lockdowns fantastically well – learning new skills and developing an interest in cooking. He started out by making smoothies and baking, but has since taken interest to such an extent that culinary skills include Indian, Italian, Chinese and Mediterranean cuisine.
Ansh then had the idea of cooking Indian meals for his elderly neighbours. They had told him how much they miss going out to restaurants. So, he embarked on a DofE voluntary project which involved him cooking fresh Indian meals and delivering them in disposable boxes on alternate Saturdays.
Ansh explains: “I was inspired to learn to cook by my mother. She always provides us with a delicious meal.”
“I absolutely love cooking for my neighbours. Indian cuisine has been my favourite to cook as there is such a huge range of flavours that go into every dish.”
