Two Second Year students participated in the UK Lions Regional Hockey Tournament in Nottingham last weekend. Will and Oscar both represented the South of England in separate teams, and Will’s team went on to win the tournament – congratulations!
In addition, the tournament is an opportunity for UK Lions scouts to observe players, and at the end of the tournament both Will and Oscar found out they have been invited to play for the UK Lions U14 National Hockey team for the 2024/25 season.
The UK Lions provide young hockey players with a different experience of playing hockey, with high quality coaching and high standard of match play.
Will and Oscar will train with the 36-strong UK Lions squad from August, participate in a two-day hockey camp later this year and a warm weather training weekend in Malaga, they’ll also complete indoor hockey training and further tours to Rotterdam and Ulster in 2025. A hugely exciting prospect, well done to both.
Both students play in Trinity’s U13A teams and continue to impress with their performances. They also represent the school in Football and Cricket.
