Congratulations to all Trinity students who recently received one of an outstanding set of results for LAMDA exams, taken during the spring and summer terms. A total of 28 students completed exams from Grade 2 to Grade 8, across two syllabi: Performance – Solo Acting and Communications – Speaking Verse and Prose.

The results were phenomenal, with three merits and 25 distinctions, and seven students achieving over 90 per cent in the exams. Four students were taking the exam for the first time, and we applaud their efforts, and all six Grade 8 students achieved a distinction and should be very proud of their achievements (three are pictured here).

More about the syllabi:

Solo acting

Throughout the grades, students explore a variety of dramatic texts, developing technical performance skills, and a wider awareness of how different genres and styles of texts require different approaches. By Grade 8 students perform three dramatic monologues from different eras, and then defend their work whilst also recognising the impact of renowned theatre directors on their practice.

Speaking Verse and Prose

Using poetry and fiction, students explore how to connect with an audience whilst developing transferable vocal communication skills and a deeper understanding of their own choice of source material. As with the Acting syllabus, students develop an appreciation of the impact of different writers’ styles on their recital and learn how to communicate their opinions alongside those of the authors.

Teachers at Trinity School, Croydon, who specialise in the LAMDA syllabi offer one-to-one tuition. If you would like more information about lessons or to join the waiting list, please contact Miss Reeve on tsr@trinity.croydon.sch.uk
