We are delighted to announce the Lower Sixth students who have been named our new Heads of School. Congratulations to Maddy and Jared, who will be supported by Deputy Head of School Daniel. The students impressed throughout the rigorous application process, which saw them interviewed by Mr Kennedy and the Sixth Form team last week on their vision for the Sixth Form community and the wider school.
Jared joined the school in the Junior Year and says, “As someone very generously supported by the school bursary and scholarship programmes, I want to show how grateful I am for the opportunities handed to me. To give back in a meaningful way, I hope to show younger students what can happen if you buy into the curiosity and kindness at the heart of Trinity culture.”
Maddy joined the Lower Sixth last September. She says, “For me, being Head Girl means embodying the school’s values, representing my peers, and helping make our school a better place. My hope is to support everyone and create a positive, inclusive environment.”
Daniel says, “Since joining in the Junior Year just under seven years ago, Trinity has provided me with the most incredible and unforgettable experiences that will stay with me for a long time. I am excited to now give something back to the school after all it has done for me. Through my role as Deputy Head of School, I will be looking to implement new strategies to strengthen the Trinity community, within the school and beyond.”
Mr Pietersen, Head of Sixth Form, said, “Huge congratulations to Maddy, Jared and Daniel, but also to the whole Senior Prefect Team. The interview process involved a presentation and panel interview: it’s a nerve-wracking thing to present, without prompts, in front of the Head about your vision for the future, but all eight of them did a brilliant job.
“As ever in these processes it is an unfortunate and difficult task to have to pick three students, but Maddy, Jared and Daniel stood out for their warmth, humility and their sense of purpose and direction: we are excited to see how they lead the student body.”
