More than 100 alumni, parents, current and former staff came together recently for a special evening at the National Liberal Club in Westminster.

Held in the historic surroundings of the David Lloyd George Room, the event welcomed members of the Trinity community spanning more than six decades, from alumni who left in the 1960s to members of the Class of 2025 preparing to begin their next chapter.

The evening was hosted thanks to the generosity of alumni David and Michael Hodson, whose longstanding support helped create a memorable occasion in one of London’s most iconic private members’ clubs.

While the weather prevented guests from making use of the club’s famous riverside terrace, it did little to dampen the atmosphere inside. Alumni, parents and staff enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect, share memories and catch up on life since Trinity, with conversations continuing throughout the evening.

One of the highlights was the chance for former students to meet again with teachers who had played an important role during their time at school. Former staff including Dr Malcolm Dodd, Fraser MacDonald, David Lawson, Vic Tokarski and Ana Abad joined current colleagues David Price, David Lydon, Andrew Magee, Ian Marsh and Anthony Muirhead, alongside former Headmaster Mark Bishop.

Current Headmaster Al Kennedy also spoke during the evening, sharing updates from across the school and reflecting on the exciting developments shaping Trinity’s future. These included Jason Court’s forthcoming retirement as Director of Development, plans for the school’s transition to full co-education, student-led T60 fundraising initiatives, as well as updates on the music department’s associated challenges and a three-person staff team walking the entire tram route from Beckenham to Wimbledon.

Guests were also treated to an engaging talk from David Hodson on the history of the National Liberal Club, offering a fascinating insight into the heritage of the venue and its place in public life.

Events such as these are a wonderful reminder of the strength and reach of the Trinity community. Whether reconnecting with old friends, meeting former teachers or building new connections, guests enjoyed an evening that celebrated the enduring bonds created through a shared Trinity experience.

Our thanks go to David and Michael Hodson, and to Bunty Matthias, for their generous hospitality and continued support of the Trinity community.
