It’s been a successful National Careers Week inspiring our students across the school to think about what subjects and possible careers they may be interested in pursuing after Trinity. The week started with a whole school assembly, led by Mr Aldridge, Head of Futures, talking about the importance of engaging early.
While alumni talks and dedicated lessons have run throughout the week, the highlight was undoubtedly the inaugural Futures Fair last night. Over 950 tickets were snapped up by students and their families from Trinity and neighbouring schools, and the Concert Hall was busy all night with conversations about choosing the right subjects, getting the most out of Sixth Form, enhancing CVs, preparing applications, university life, and more.
The break-out talks from experts on overseas study, applying to Cambridge and Oxford and applying for degree apprenticeships were also extremely popular, and it was standing room only in many of the rooms. Thank you to everyone who attended, and we hope you found the event useful. We would appreciate any feedback you have via the form here.
The event was open to all students at Trinity, so even those lower down the school could come along to find out more and ask questions.
Third Year student Rafi attended the Futures Fair with a friend and said, “It’s been good to come along and find out a bit more about options. I have an idea about the subjects I’m interested in already. I spoke to InvestIn and they gave me some advice about making my CV stand out by getting involved in extra-curricular. I’m a cadet with the CCF and they said that is a really good activity to talk about.”
The Futures team is always on hand to answer any further questions, so please get in touch directly.
