Our talented students have had a great week performing for members of the local community.

Wilhelmina House and Croydon Minster performances as part of an international project

The Lo Quartet, one of our senior chamber groups, visited Wilhelmina House and Croydon Minster as part of the George Enescu-Omul cu vioara de aur project.  Organised by the Play Cultural Association (Sibiu, Romania), the project brings alive the music of Romania’s most famous musician, who was a talented violinist, conductor, composer and teacher.

George Enescu – The History of the Soldier Artist  finishes this month. Along with other events, including workshops at schools in Sibiu, Cluj-Napoca, Alba Iulia and Iasi (Romania), as well as Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) and Rennes (France); interactive theatre performances, and a ‘mini festival’, our students performed his music for the residents of the local residential home and the local community in a lunchtime concert at the Croydon Minster.

Selsdon Contact Centre Christmas Party

Amiri Harewood, Harry Lees and Joshua Kenney played at the Selsdon Contact Centre’s Christmas party this week, to a full audience full of Christmas cheer. The group performed as the visitors enjoyed all the festivities of the party.  One of the group leaders said: “We have had excellent feedback from our clients to say how much they enjoyed being entertained by the students, and how talented they are!”
