As is Trinity tradition, in the final week before the official start of A Level study leave, the Upper Sixth have the chance to let their hair down, don some silly costumes and make memories all together for one of the last times.

A fun games afternoon sees each form group pick a fancy dress theme (which is top secret until the big reveal), before taking part in a whole host of sports day competitions including a competitive egg and spoon race!

The following day, the leavers congregate on the sports pitches where an inflatable obstacle course and relaxed BBQ provide an opportunity to reflect on their time at Trinity and say farewell to many of the teaching staff

Mr Hodge, Head of Upper Sixth, has been the year head for the group most of the way through school. He said, “Thankfully, the Upper Sixth got the weather they deserved for their sports afternoon and BBQ. Glorious weather was fitting for such a wonderful group of humans who have given so much in their time at Trinity. Their dedication to their fancy dress was therefore unsurprising but still amazing, putting the Sixth Form team’s ballet tutus to shame.

“It was brilliant seeing everyone get involved in the events, particularly the epic tug of war competition at the very end. The BBQ inflatables provided excellent entertainment, with battles on the assault course, carnage in the hungry hippos, and full-length dives on the bouncy castle penalty shootout. There was a lovely feel to the BBQ afternoon, reflecting a year group that is very much together. You will be greatly missed, class of 2025.”

Miss Boorman, Deputy Head of Sixth Form, agreed, “What a brilliant send off for the class of 2025. Some outstanding fancy dress, from bumblebees to Trolls and from jockeys to smurfs, our Upper Sixth leavers went out in style. Thankfully there isn’t an A Level in throwing a welly, which seemed too hard for most, but everyone had a great time during our fun sports afternoon.

“Following that, was our celebratory BBQ afternoon, on which the sun shone, and everyone enjoyed saying farewell (until next week) to each other and to their teachers. Best of luck, class of 2025, you will be missed.”
