We were delighted to welcome Callum Clements from local youth charity Lives Not Knives (LNK) to Trinity School in Croydon this week, to present a cheque for £2,500, raised during our annual golf day.
Laurie King, Trinity School’s archivist and the organiser of the Trinity Golf Day, presented the cheque and was joined by two students, Semiloore and Yi Long, who had previously volunteered at LNK, and Claire Burrage, our Head of Community Action.
The annual golf day, hosted at Croham Hurst Golf Club, was well attended by alumni, parents, friends of the community, and staff. It’s a popular event in the school calendar, and is a wonderful opportunity to get together, participate in a few friendly competitions on the fairway, enjoy dinner and this year, raise money for LNK. An auction took place during dinner, and we welcomed LNK CEO Eliza Rebeiro who delivered an impassioned speech to our guests.
LNK is a youth-led charity that works to prevent serious youth violence and school exclusions by offering guidance and support to disadvantaged and ‘at-risk’ young people, helping them improve their future prospects. The school has regularly supported LNK through fundraising; it was a student-chosen charity for a termly Non-Uniform ‘Charity day’ and it has also been chosen by the Trinity Parents’ Association to fundraise for.
Once again, many thank to our Trinity Golf Day sponsors: Castore, Cobra Energy, Kitlocker, Tribe Advisory, as well as to the numerous organisations for their very generous raffle and auction prizes which made it possible to raise the £2,500 for LNK.
