Trinity Music Teacher, Richard Holdsworth has written a song for Christmas 2020, reflecting on feelings about the challenges of the past year and the importance of remembering those less fortunate.
The song was recorded in one day, at the end of term and included our students – singers, brass players, string players, electric guitarists, etc. The song was then edited and mixed by a Trinity student.
It is now available on You Tube, and the music department want to give something back to those less fortunate and are asking for donations to be made to homeless charities Crisis and One YMCA.
Richard Holdsworth said “It’s been a difficult year for all of us in so many different ways but, as we came to the end of the autumn term, we began to appreciate just how fortunate we’ve been.
As members of a safe, but busy music department and a wider school community, it is important to remember that there are those who have not had the same contact or opportunities as we have. We wanted to do something that would spread the joy and hope that we all need a little of right now. Particular thanks go to Phil Steel for his help with the arrangement and to our Sixth Form student, who mixed and edited it”.
We hope you enjoy it and please give generously to the charities we are supporting who do so much invaluable work throughout the year. We wish you all a safe and restful Christmas.
