The Careers Department recently hosted its second Careers Spotlight event of the year – a virtual, interactive event which focused on careers in Investment Management.
Students from Fifth Year up to the Upper Sixth Form enjoyed the opportunity to hear from Charlotte Smith of Investment 20/20, part of The Investment Association and an organisation which provides a route through to a career in investment management.
The session introduced students to the purpose of investment management as well as potential routes into the industry and career pathways.
It also provided key information and statistics on the investment management labour market as well as the types of skills and jobs which look set to be in demand in the future.
In addition, students heard about the Investment20/20 Trainee and Apprenticeship routes, and enjoyed the opportunity to talk to and hear from Zoe Innerarity, an Investment20/20 Trainee from Croydon. Zoe provided the students with an insight as to how she managed her journey from education into the world of work; giving details about the role she is currently undertaking.
Students then had an opportunity to participate in a Q&A with the speakers – Charlotte Smith, Programme and Team Co-Ordinator at Investment 20/20; Sue Allen, Team Co-ordinator; and Zoe Innerarity, who formed part of this year’s Investment 20/20 Trainee programme.
This event formed one of a series of Spotlight events organised by the Careers Department. Thanks to all those who made this happen.
