During December we appealed for support to our Malawi Project Christmas Appeal.

Traditionally, funds were raised via numerous different events, but as many of these events were either cancelled or instead run virtually, we feared we would not be able to support our partner school in Chipwepete in the same way.

We are delighted however to tell you that thanks to your generosity we exceeded the fundraising target of £5000, raising £5227 (before Gift Aid)!

This was largely achieved by live streaming  our annual Jazz Evening, showcasing our talented jazz musicians, whilst raising money for the Malawi Appeal. Music was provided courtesy of Swing Band and our Jazz Collective, with the Big Band taking the evening to its climax: the live prize draw! The event has received over 4000 views on You Tube.

Money raised already, thanks to your generous donations, have gone towards the creation of a bridge, in order to help children get to our partner school, Chipwepwete, in Malawi, safely – even during rainy season.

Leonard Haj, Headmaster at Chipwepwete school send a Chrsitmas message to the school: “On behalf of all teachers, learners of Chipwepwete, would like to thank Trinity for the support given to us. This time we have a conducive environment for teaching and learning. With the support of the feeding program dropouts rate has been reduced particularly to lower classes. Our learners are enjoying good classrooms, desks filling cabinets just to mention a few. You are most welcome here at Chipwepwete in our next academic year 2021. May God bless you. We wish you Merry Christmas and happy new year”.

The money raised really does make a difference to people’s lives, so a heartfelt thanks is extended to all donors.
