Trinity recently hosted a drinks event in Nottingham for Trinity alumni currently studying at the Nottingham and Loughborough universities. The event brought together a diverse group of talented individuals, all united by their passion for success and their desire to make a positive impact within the Trinity community.

Trinity has an active and connected alumni community of over 5,000 former students across the UK and worldwide. It’s a valuable professional resource for those at the beginning or later in their careers and, increasingly, has been benefitting our current students. Over 70% of the 1,500 members of our online community hub, My Trinity, have given professional advice and support to fellow Trinity alumni.

Mrs Lewis, Alumni Relations Manager, noted that one of the most striking things about meeting these outstanding young people was the sense of community and camaraderie that was palpable around the table. She discussed the opportunities for them to support some of the current Trinity Sixth Form students and they were all genuinely excited about the prospect of helping others in the community succeed.

We have long recognised the benefit to current students of hearing from recent Trinity leavers, who successfully navigated the post-A Level choices themselves. The Nottingham group were all invested in the idea of acting as mentors or giving advice on university and subject choices, and there was a real sense of mutual support and encouragement. Trinity is keen to expand the programme as much as possible and connect the younger alumni at universities all over the country with current Sixth Form students.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community, and of the incredible potential that our young people possess to achieve great things for themselves and others. We look forward to building on this further and if anyone is interested in getting involved, please contact the Alumni team on: alumni@trinity.croydon.sch.uk
