During the October half-term break, seven Trinity students from the Sixth Form had the unique opportunity to participate in a four-day work experience at Bloomberg’s Central London offices. The students successfully applied and were accepted onto the highly sought-after and oversubscribed ‘Build Your Future‘ work experience programme.
The ‘Build Your Future’ programme is designed to immerse students in Bloomberg’s work environment and culture, connect with diverse communities within the company, and prepare for their future professional careers. It is also focused on students of UK Black, African, and Caribbean heritage, aligning with October’s Black History Month.
The programme provides students with hands-on experience with Bloomberg’s flagship product, the Bloomberg Terminal, offers insight into various aspects of Bloomberg’s daily operations, and helps students develop professional skills, giving them a glimpse into potential future career paths. Our students were able to shadow different departments, participate in practical skill sessions, and explore the historic Roman temple beneath the office in the London Mithraeum Bloomberg Space.
The students all thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were grateful for the exposure to Bloomberg—a media conglomerate renowned for its provision of financial news, information, research, and financial data.
Upper Sixth student Jaedon said, “My work experience at Bloomberg was truly exceptional and exceeded my expectations. The exposure to cutting-edge technologies and the opportunity to work on innovative projects left a lasting impact on my career aspirations. Overall, my time at Bloomberg was an incredibly positive and enriching experience.”
Upper Sixth Samuel agreed, “This work experience was extremely beneficial as I was able to network with many charismatic and inspirational individuals who gave me an insight into how life as a Bloomberg employee would be. I was also able to learn about terminal functions which should help me in the future.”
Lower Sixth student Semiloore said, “The work experience we had at Bloomberg was incredible, providing an expansive insight into the various roles the company has while also providing an opportunity to network with numerous professionals. I’d highly recommend it to any student looking for experience.”
