Second Year student Harry has had an outstanding few weeks on the athletics circuit, helping his club, Blackheath & Bromley Harriers, to major success at both regional and national level.

Harry was selected by his club to compete in the National Road Relays in Sutton Coldfield on Saturday 4 October. The event saw 72 teams from across the country take on the three-person team challenge, with each runner completing a 3km leg before passing the baton to the next. Harry ran the first leg before handing over to his teammates Zach and Emery, and the trio went on to finish first, becoming national champions.

This victory followed another impressive performance just weeks earlier, when Harry’s team won the South of England Road Relays, finishing first out of 76 teams and setting a new course record.

“It was a really exciting but tiring weekend,” said Harry. “I’m really proud that we ended up finishing first and becoming national champions. Our next big competition is the National Cross Country Relays in a couple of weeks and we’d really like to get another medal to complete our set.”

At Trinity, Harry is involved in lots of sport including football, rugby, hockey, swimming and cross country – winning the Second Year Mob Run in the first couple of weeks of term. Last summer, he represented Great Britain in biathle, winning an individual silver and team gold medal.

Well done to Harry for his fantastic achievements and dedication to his sport. We wish him and his teammates every success in their upcoming races.
