Trinity is celebrating an impressive double success for sporting brothers Luca and Ethan, who both enjoyed standout performances in their respective athletics disciplines over recent weeks.
Third Year student Luca claimed a bronze medal at the South of England Athletics Association U15 Indoor Championships, held at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre on 11 January. Competing in the pole vault, Luca cleared an excellent height of 2.90m, a fantastic achievement given that he only began vaulting five months ago and was competing against athletes with several years of experience.
Luca’s rapid progress has earned him a place at the national championships in February, where he will compete against the best young athletes from across the country.
Younger brother Ethan, a First Year student, also enjoyed success last weekend, winning the U13 1000m race walk in Sheffield. Ethan led the race from start to finish, crossing the line in a personal best time of 5:19.71. In doing so, he shaved an impressive 13 seconds off his previous best and broke his own Blackheath and Bromley Harriers AC record. The time now stands as both the club’s U13 and U15 record – a brilliant achievement!
Following his race, Ethan was congratulated by British race walker and two-time Olympian Tom Bosworth MBE, which cemented the day as a truly unforgettable one.

Congratulations to both students on their fantastic achievements.
