At Trinity, we encourage our students to actively participate and commit to a broad variety of sports and physical activities throughout their time here. Rather than focusing and specialising on a single sport from a young age, it’s common for students to take part in up to three different sports within a single school day.
We have achieved remarkable success at both regional and national levels across numerous sports. This success is rooted in the high levels of participation in our Lower and Middle Schools, alongside tremendous support from parents. Many of our students go on to compete at elite levels after first discovering their sport at Trinity.
Our expert coaching team includes individuals who have represented or coached at the international level, offering guidance and development to all students and regardless of their ability or previous experience. Additionally, students with aspirations of pursuing sport as a career can benefit from our dedicated High-Performance Programme.
With outstanding facilities, such as extensive sports fields, two astroturf pitches, two sports halls, a swimming pool, brand new netball courts, three squash courts, a climbing wall, a health and fitness suite, and an athletic performance suite, plus our additional fields at Sandilands, we provide a wide array of sporting opportunities for all students.
Many students join Trinity with little or no previous experience of rugby. Through expert coaching, outstanding support and a culture built on enjoyment, hard work and teamwork, students quickly develop their skills, confidence and love for the game. Whether it is on-field coaching, video analysis, strength and conditioning, leadership development or individual mentoring, every student is challenged and supported to become the best version of themselves. Our coaches build strong relationships with players and create an environment where students can flourish both on and off the field.
Our coaching team includes former Premiership and Championship players, RFU Advanced Coach Award holders and coaches who have worked with Harlequins and Saracens Academies. Alongside delivering a first-class rugby education, they help students develop the resilience, leadership and teamwork skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
The strength of our programme is reflected in its achievements. Trinity were National Schools Cup Winners and competed in the World Schools Festival in 2022, National Schools Cup Finalists in 2023 and continue to compete successfully at national level across multiple age groups.
Over the last four years, five Trinity players have represented England U18s, while six graduates have signed professional contracts, five with Harlequins and one with Toulouse, with many others playing the highest level of University Rugby. In 2024, two former Trinity students were members of England’s World Rugby U20 Championship-winning squad. These achievements demonstrate the quality of the pathway available to students, from complete beginners through to the professional game.

The football season runs through the Autumn and Spring terms, providing students with the time, structure, and support to develop their skills, grow in confidence both individually and as part of a team. We place equal emphasis on participation and performance, offering students a chance to play in competitive fixtures across all age groups, competing in both ISFA and ESFA competitions as well as the opportunity to play friendly fixtures against local schools. Each season, we field approximately 23 teams and play more than 120 fixtures, which shows the popularity of football across the school.
In the 2023/24 season, Trinity became the first school in the country to win both the U13 and U15 ISFA Trophy in the same year. This represented the school’s first national football honours and marked a milestone in the continued growth and success of the programme.
Following the end of the 2025/26 season, we had the opportunity to travel to Gothenburg, Sweden to compete in the internationally renowned, Gothia Cup, the world’s largest youth football tournament. The tour allowed students to experience football on a global stage, competing against teams from Sweden, Lebanon, Greece and Germany. Both squads performed fantastically well throughout a demanding week with our B15 team progressing to the last 16, while our B16 team had an outstanding run to Quarter Finals, bringing a close to an amazing week for all students and staff.

Hockey is one of Trinity’s flagship sports, with the Girls’ programme taking centre stage in the Autumn Term and the Boys’ programme in the Spring Term. Our Boys’ 1st XI compete in the England Hockey Tier 1 league, while our Girls’ 1st XI compete in the England Hockey Trophy and indoor competitions.
We provide an ambitious environment where talented players can reach the highest levels of the sport, while ensuring every pupil can develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of the game. Pupils regularly represent Trinity at county and Talent Academy level, with a number progressing to England age-group squads.
Participation is equally important. Last season, our U12s fielded teams from A–J, providing meaningful competitive opportunities across the full range of abilities. We are equally proud of the opportunities we provide for players at every level and the enjoyment, confidence and lifelong love of hockey that our programme develops.
