Trinity School, in Croydon, has a fantastic line-up of courses on offer for February half term 2025, ideal for children and young people interested in activities such as field sports, swimming or computer coding. 

All courses will be hosted at the school site in Shirley, set in 26 acres of green space, with the courses led by Trinity sports staff or trusted third parties. 

The courses are open to all in the Croydon and South London area, including students and non-students, with details and booking links below and via the Events page. 

Coding Camp  

  • Dates: Monday 17 to Friday 21 February, 10.00am-4.00pm (early drop-off available from 9.00am) 
  • Ages: 5-16 years old
  • Cost: Full week from £400 Early bird, or £450 normal price 
  • Overview:  Run by BlueShift Education, a creative coding company accredited by STEM.org, children are divided into groups by key stage. The action-packed camp blends coding, robotics and game design, suitable for each age group. They’ll be able to unleash their creativity and develop key skills.

Lifeguard qualification course  

  • Monday 17 to Friday 21 February, 9.00am-6.00pm 
  • Ages: 16+ 
  • Cost: £300 for the week, limited places available 
  • Overview: Led by Trinity sports staff, participants will complete three sections of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ 10) as well as a theory test during the course. They will learn swimming pool safety operation and supervision, pool lifeguard emergency rescue skills, first aid, illness and injury management in a pool environment. Participants must be 16 years or above and be able to demonstrate various swimming skills before starting the course.

Intensive swimming lessons  

  • Dates: Monday 17 to Friday 21 February, adults: 8.30am-9.00am, children: half hour lesson between 9.00am and 11.30am 
  • Ages: 5+ 
  • Cost: £65 for the week 
  • Overview: A five-day intensive course of 30-minute lessons in small class sizes (5-6 per teacher) to improve swimming at any level. Various ability classes available from Non-Swimmer to Advanced, as well as adult classes.

 Rugby and Cricket course 

  • Dates: Thursday 20 February from 9.30am-3.30pm (arrival from 9.00am) 
  • Ages: 9-12 years old 
  • Cost: £50 
  • Overview: The morning Rugby course is run by Trinity’s Head of Rugby Mr Paul Roberts. After lunch from 1.00pm, the Cricket course will be led by Trinity’s Head of Cricket, Mr Steve Richards. The course will cover a variety of skills and game play, affording every player the opportunity to enjoy themselves and develop as a player across the course of the day.

Football and Hockey course  

  • Dates: Friday 21 February from 9.30am-3.30pm (arrival from 9.00am) 
  • Ages: 9-12 years old 
  • Cost: £50 
  • Overview: The morning Football course is run by Trinity’s Head of Football, Mr Brad Wilson. After lunch, from 1.00pm, the Cricket course will be led by Trinity’s Head of Hockey, Mr. Nick Giles. The course will cover a variety of skills and game play, affording every player the opportunity to enjoy themselves and develop as a player across the course of the day.
