We are delighted that our LAMDA programme has once again produced outstanding results. In last year’s programme, 95% of our students achieved Distinctions, and nearly 25% scored over 90%.
The programme is led by specialist teacher Miss Reeve and enables students to achieve internationally recognised awards, build acting technique, and – perhaps most importantly – develop confidence and communication skills.
The programme empowers students to think about what they want to say, how they want to be heard, and how to express ideas that matter to them. In higher grades, LAMDA qualifications also contribute towards UCAS points, providing real academic and pathway value to students.
LAMDA is more than acting. It’s about building confidence, clarity, and the ability to connect – helping students to find their voice, explore ideas that matter to them, and communicate with power and purpose.
Last year’s students took exams across two main disciplines. In Acting, they prepared and performed monologues or scenes, developing their ability to create characters and tell stories with truth and impact. In Speaking Verse & Prose, they worked on the interpretation and delivery of poetry and prose, focusing on clarity, expression, and connection with the listener.
Upper Sixth William said, “I have always enjoyed doing LAMDA from a young age. It has given me a much needed break from my studies and has given me something very different to think about. It has helped me to develop many useful skills such as projection and diversification of tone. I have really enjoyed all of my lessons and being able to talk through my ideas for a piece in a more informal setting than a classroom but still with someone well versed in their field.”
