We recently found out that we have been Highly Commended for our Performing Arts in the Muddy Best Schools Awards 2025.

The awards are run by consumer website Muddy Stilettos, in association with Debrett’s Education, and recognise excellence in the independent school sector across the UK and Channel Islands.

Trinity was Highly Commended in the Dynamic Performing Arts category, which this year focused on the strength of leadership.

In the Music Department, we are fortunate to have a team of highly experienced, professionally active musicians, including section heads for Strings, Woodwind, Rock, Pop and Jazz. Their energy, industry expertise, and high expectations create a vibrant, ambitious culture that inspires students daily.

We also recognise the importance of student leadership, and positive peer pressure, where talented musicians across the school inspire and challenge others – particularly across the many performance opportunities we offer. Our students also inspire younger students through our partner primary school programme (TPPS) with a Travelling Band and choirs who perform during primary school assemblies.

Similarly in the Drama Department, our talented teaching staff regularly perform outside of school, and plays they have written are performed in London theatres. They inspire and encourage students to create their own plays, provide opportunities to shadow them in directing roles, with students then passing this passion on to younger ones by leading co-curricular clubs.

Regular theatre trips, workshops with professionals (make-up, stage combat), cross-curricular collaborations, student mentoring within the scholarship programme, and support for our students engaged in professional work outside of school, all contribute to a thriving and dynamic environment.

There is a lot more that goes on here, if you’d like to come and speak with our Music and Drama teachers and students, our Open Day is on Saturday 4 October and we will be running smaller weekday tours from early September. You can register your interest here.

We recently welcomed the editor of Muddy Stilettos South London to visit Trinity School, Croydon, for a tour and to meet the Head. You can read her full review here.
