At the end of August eight singers from the Trinity Boys Choir spent a busy afternoon in Angel Studios, Islington (part of the Abbey Road Studios enterprise) recording music for a horror film due to be released in time for Halloween.
The Trinity Boys Choir has an enviable reputation for its studio work and is frequently asked to record music for film soundtracks and pop and rock artists.
Mr Swinson relates, “It was a really challenging but also rewarding session. We were booked for the standard three hours with an optional extra hour of overtime and the whole of the extra hour was taken. This wasn’t because the boys did not work efficiently. They were brilliant and incredibly focused, but the producer and director wanted every cue sung in a different way and by different singers so that they had lots of options. There were also quite a lot of effects, notably screaming and loud breathing!”
Second Year singer Oliver Barlow adds: “We had one day off after the final Glyndebourne performance and the BBC Proms, but this session was so much fun. I definitely hit the highest scream of everyone!”
As ever, we are not allowed to reveal the title of the film until its release but it is likely to well publicised nearer the release date. Watch this space!
