The latest Sunday Times Parent Power League has once again highlighted Trinity as one of the country’s leading schools for Academic Excellence, placing us 32nd out of 301 independent schools nationwide, 36th of all secondary schools, and the top independent school in Croydon. In the highly competitive London region, where eight of the national top ten schools are based, we have been ranked 17th.
The rankings reflect this year’s excellent exam outcomes. Our Upper Sixth achieved their strongest post-Covid A Level results, with 39.4% A* grades, 76.6% A*/A, and 95% A*/A/B. At GCSE, results were equally uplifting, with 41.5% grade 9s and 86.4% grades 9–7, reflecting the ambition and determination of our students.
Headmaster, Alasdair Kennedy, says, “We are very pleased with this ranking because it recognises the dedication of our students and staff. Academic achievement matters, of course, but what matters just as much is the kind of people our students become. Trinity’s strength lies in its community – diverse, warm, aspirational – and our bursary provision is central to that.
“As we prepare to become fully co-educational from 2027, we are excited to welcome an even broader range of voices and experiences into our community. When children from many different walks of life learn together, everyone gains.”
One of the defining features of Trinity is its long-standing commitment to welcoming students from a wide range of backgrounds. Supported by the John Whitgift Foundation and our own Trinity Bursary Fund, 17% of our students currently receive means-tested bursaries, ensuring that talent and potential, rather than financial circumstances, determine access to a Trinity education.
As we mark 60 years at Shirley Park, our students are taking part in a challenge to raise £60 each for the Trinity Bursary Fund, helping more local children benefit from the life-changing opportunities the school provides.
