We’re excited to announce that our planning application to Croydon Council for the expansion and development of the school is now live on the website for all to view and comment on.
The plans support our long-term vision to welcome girls throughout the school, with girls joining Years 6 and 7 from 2027 and Trinity becoming fully co-educational by 2031. We will also be growing gradually over the next five years, ensuring that our values, sense of community and the outstanding educational experience we provide, remain at the heart of everything we do.
To support this growth, the proposals include new high-quality classrooms, a purpose-built Sixth Form Centre, a new fitness suite and landscaped outdoor spaces designed for students to enjoy throughout the school day. Improvements to the front of the school, including a redesigned pick-up and drop-off area, aimed to improve safety and ease for students, families and visitors.

These plans have already been shaped by engagement with our community. In December, we were pleased to host events with students, parents, staff and local residents, giving people the opportunity to share ideas and feedback. This input has helped inform the final proposals, and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to be involved.
Headmaster Alasdair Kennedy said, “Submitting this planning application is an exciting milestone for Trinity. As we prepare to become fully co-educational, our focus is on creating inclusive, flexible spaces that support students academically, socially and pastorally. We welcome continued engagement as we shape the future of the school together.”
The £40 million project, funded by the John Whitgift Foundation, will be delivered without any financial contribution from parents. All current, future students and our local community partners will benefit from the enhanced facilities, with works carefully phased to minimise disruption to teaching and learning.
The full planning application, including drawings and supporting documents, can be viewed on Croydon Council’s planning portal via this link (reference: 26/00331/FUL) and we warmly welcome further comments as part of the consultation process.
