A group of 32 French students from the First, Second and Third Years hopped across the Channel for a whistle-stop tour of Paris and Disneyland during October half term. It was a chance to take in French culture, bond with their schoolmates and practice their language skills while having fun.

Mr Desbos reports back from the trip: “We were very lucky to enjoy some nice weather when we crossed the channel by ferry and the boys happily tucked into burgers and chips during the crossing.

It was a fairly short trip, so we had a lot to pack into our first day in Paris. We went up the Montparnasse Tower, a 210-metre-high skyscraper, where we enjoyed the magnificent views of Paris from the 53rd floor of the tower.

Our next stop was the famous Louvres Museum, where the students admired the Pyramid and the Mona Lisa and after that we went on a little boat cruise on the Seine River.

In the evening, we all ate at the Hard Rock Café where the students enjoyed listening to rock tunes while eating.

We spent the second day at Disneyland where the students had a lot of fun on the numerous rides in the park. We then all had dinner there and went back to hotel, feeling pretty tired but also very happy. The last day was spent on the coach driving back to London.”

Second Year student Thomas Pickles said, “For me, I loved our boat trip along the Seine where we had amazing views of the Eiffel Tower and lots of other incredible buildings. The Louvre and Montparnasse Tower were also great as we got to go to the very top floor of the tower and saw the infamous Mona Lisa. Over the trip, I practised my French when going into shops in Disneyland and overall, the trip was brilliant. I also spent lots of time with new people and got to know them much better than I had before.”
