The Autumn 2025 issue of In Trinity magazine is here, and it’s all about curiosity. The quote on the front of the magazine supports our view that successful students share one defining characteristic: curiosity.

This latest edition celebrates the spirit of questioning and exploration that runs through every part of life at Trinity, from record-breaking exam results and innovative STEM projects to inspiring creative work in Drama, Music and Art.

In his introduction, Headmaster Alasdair Kennedy reflects on why curiosity matters more than ever in today’s uncertain world. As global challenges intensify and familiar assumptions are tested, he writes that the purpose of good education is “to nurture outstanding young people, or, put more simply, to shape good human beings.” He continues, “If we – staff and students – know how to ask the right questions, then individual understanding grows, and learning can be a powerful collaborative experience.”

Throughout the magazine, that curiosity comes to life in many forms. From our Mitre Lectures and student-led publications to bold stage performances and adventurous trips abroad, this edition captures the energy and imagination that make Trinity such a vibrant place to learn.

There is plenty to discover, including:

  • One full year of our brilliant Mitre Lecture series, bringing world-class speakers to school

  • Our students’ creativity in The Power of Maps and the Davidson Inventors Challenge

  • A focus on musical discovery, from Jazz Breakfasts to our Soloists’ tour of Belgium

  • Reflections on our journey towards full co-education and 60 years at Shirley Park

With thanks to all staff, students and parents who contributed to this issue.
