The latest edition of the Trinity School alumni newsletter, My Trinity, is out and is all about water polo, celebrating the school’s impressive achievements in the sport. In 2023, Trinity made school history by winning all three boys’ national water polo titles (U13, U15 and U18) and this huge achievement was repeated in 2024.
The newsletter features interviews with Trinity alumni including Olympic star and current Director of Sport, Sean King, and recent graduate Kathy Rogers who is the current captain for the Great Britain Senior Women’s Water Polo Team. Both Sean and Kathy reflect on their experiences playing water polo at school and the friendships they formed with their team-mates.
This issue also honours Ian Marsh, a key coach who has greatly influenced Trinity’s water polo success over his many years of invaluable service to the school and continues to do so.
It also takes a trip down memory lane, exploring the origins of water polo at Trinity, which started in the 1950s with the Jupp brothers and how the national reputation of the school was earned.
This edition of My Trinity also marks the 60th anniversary of the laying of the Foundation Stone at the current Shirley Park site, marking the beginning of a series of celebrations planned over the next two years.
Besides water polo, the newsletter highlights alumni achievements in various fields. Maddy Burt received a Gray’s Inn Scholarship, Amiri Harewood won the Kerr Memorial prize, and Cemal Ezel was awarded an OBE for his social enterprise work. The newsletter emphasises Trinity’s dedication to maintaining a strong alumni network and supporting future students through initiatives like the Trinity Bursary Fund.
