Trinity alumnus David Picksley, who is 89 in two months’ time, completed the London Marathon yesterday in just under 7 ½ hours, raising over £1,600 for the Trinity Bursary Fund.

David, who left Trinity in 1951, pledged to complete the Virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon during our summer fundraising campaign. He had been training hard for some months.

“It all went very well, and the weather was perfect. Son and grandson were in support!”he said.

Mr Young, Trinity’s Director of Development, added: “As a mere 60 year old, this gives me much to aim for in my own athletic efforts!”

Trinity School’s Bursary Fund enables academically gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds to benefit from an outstanding education and all the extra-curricular activities offered by the school. Our ambition is to supplement the bursaries awarded by the John Whitgift Foundation to enable 1 in every 5 Trinity students to be supported by a bursary.
