This week the Trinity Concert Hall has been transformed into bustling 1950s New York for the whole school Drama production of Guys and Dolls. The energy kicked off on Wednesday with a public dress rehearsal performed to a packed audience of our local partner primary school students, who were completely captivated throughout.

Teachers from St John’s Primary told us, “What an amazing show! Those leading actors could go and work in the West End, they were that good! Our children absolutely loved the singing and dancing which was just so professional.” Gresham School added that they were “very impressed with the talent of your students” and “loved the choreographed routines.”

Last night’s official opening performance continued the excitement, drawing in families, friends and staff. Audience highlights included the sharp, intricate choreography of the crapshooters and Hot Box dancers, and the phenomenal singing across the cast, in particular of Sixth Formers Beni and Ines as leads Adelaide and Sarah.

Miss Robinson, Director of Drama, says, “The cohesion amongst this group of students has been brilliant throughout rehearsals, and seeing Mr Chambers’ vision and creativity brought to life will create life-long memories for the 75 students involved.”

Student Assistant Director James adds, “We have all come such a long way in a relatively short time, and I am so proud of the efforts behind the scenes that have resulted in the brilliant performances audiences have seen this week.”

We wish the cast and crew the very best for the final sold-out shows tonight and tomorrow!
