Our first Parent Seminar took place on Friday 14 September and welcomed nearly 200 parents to the Concert Hall.
Guest speakers, Richard Shorter of the ‘Non-Perfect Dad’ and Russell Earnshaw of The Magic Academy, entertained guests with enlightening speeches, interactive games and powerful messages within their presentations.
The lighthearted but informative evening gave parents excellent hints, tips and suggestions to support their children through the highs and lows of competitive sport, managing conversations during car journeys and allowing for challenges and disappointments to develop resilience and promote learning opportunities.
Guest speaker Richard Shorter tweeted after the event “I loved that this was not just a one off, it was part of the parent engagement plan for the year, with the challenge and inspiration to explore thinking and acting differently as parents and coaches, for the sake of the children”. A parent tweeted “My husband said it was a really excellent evening. Thank you”.
