Five students received awards at the Croydon Rotary Club Annual Schools’ Photography Competition this week.
This year’s theme was ‘Environment Under Pressure’. Mark Zaborniak won first prize for the 13-16 age group People’s Choice category with his photograph ‘Paradise’, and Surya Vijayanand’s photograph ‘Smashed’ won first prize in the overall 13-16 age group section.
In the 17+ age category, Oscar Hogan won first prize for his photograph ‘Abandoned’, Jack Lowndes received a Special Mention from the judges for his photograph ‘This is an Emergency’ and Teshan Seneviratne’s picture was awarded two prizes: runner-up in the 17+ age category and first prize in the People’s Choice category, for his photographs ‘Habit of Destruction’ and ‘Street Jam’ respectively.
This is the second consecutive year that both Surya and Jack have been successful in this competition. The Trinity students won six of the eight awards on offer, so they did extremely well.
Congratulations to the prize winners and to all those who submitted photographs!
