Trinity students impress audience at St-Martin-in-the-Fields lunchtime concert

Music | 20th June 2019

Our students delivered a hugely successful lunchtime recital at the prestigious St-Martin-in-the-Fields Church in London this week.

Trinity Musician of the Year 2019 Charlie Davies and the Lo String Quartet (Ying Lo, Joshua Albuquerque, Eliott Richards, William Albuquerque), winners of the inaugural ‘Adrian Davies’ Chamber Music Competition 2019, performed to a delighted audience that filled the auditorium.

Among the audience of people from the USA and across Europe was an old Mid-Whitgiftian who, having attended the school when it was based in central Croydon, said how proud he was to be associated with the school and how much he enjoyed the performances.

In the last few years we have come to expect high quality performances from our musicians and it is all too easy to forget and take it for granted what it takes to produce such a level of accomplishment. They will now start preparations for a tour of six concerts in Venice, Italy, taking place in October.
