During the Easter break our CCF went on their annual Junior Non-Commissioned Officer (JNCO) training camp in the Brecon Beacons.

27 cadets and six officers spent a week learning a variety of field craft and leadership skills, which culminated in an expertly-delivered dawn attack on an ‘enemy’ position.

The final day of the course gave the tired, yet still enthusiastic, cadets the chance to physically challenge themselves by gorge walking to a 30 ft waterfall, which they then jumped off!

Fourth year student Aleksander Booth said “I left Wales with much more experience of what it’s like to be in the field. We put into practice what we learnt in an excellent section attack, whilst still half asleep! For any aspiring cadets or future members of the CCF, I’d recommend this camp because you learn so much about combat situations, and much more!”
