Our annual Christmas party proved to be a hit, yet again, as students and staff catered to a full house.

Over 130 guests from the local area, including residential and care homes (Hall Grange, Whitgift House and Whitgift Almshouses) and clients of local neighbourhood care groups (Shirley Neighbourhood Care Scheme, Addiscombe Neighbourhood Care Association and Croham Hurst Good Neighbours) joined us for a fun-filled evening.

The party was supported by parents and staff, who helped it run smoothly, and 150 of our students who looked after our guests and entertained them. We had string ensembles, Big Band 1, the cast of Joseph and Sixth Form carollers.

Shirley Neighbourhood Care said: “Thank you for all your hard work.  Our clients really enjoyed themselves.  As usual, the talented pupils were amazing. The lady who drove Freda (from Peregrine) and Doreen was so considerate and so helpful.  They really appreciated her help.”

Croham Hurst Good Neighbours said: “Our admiration goes to everyone involved, it was a great evening, interesting entertainment for all, splendid band and choir, a brief part of Joseph and his coat of many colours, bingo raffle, teas, the meeting together for everyone was a joy. The boys and girls put on an amazing night of entertainment, and the younger ones looking after every table were all so charming and helpful.”

Another guest said: “Congratulations to all the pupil helpers, very impressed with their attitude, politeness and the way they dealt with everyone. They are a credit to the school and their parents.”
