Sixth Form student, Surya Vijayanand, has created a bionic arm as part of is Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).
The Extended Project Qualification is an official course offered by the exam board, AQA. Worth around half an A-level, students produce an artefact or dissertation, of approximately 5,000 words, as well as an evaluative project log, charting their journey through the process, alongside an academic presentation.
“I have spent a significant amount of time researching and self-learning in trying to make this. I used cheap and recyclable materials to create the arm and also managed to integrate an Arduino electronic circuit and code it to provide some functionality.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the creative process,” says Surya.
