Six Second Year students recently competed in the TED Talk finals; the culmination of an interform competition that had been running since January.
Talks were given on a broad range of topics from ‘Space Mining’, ‘The Brain’, to ‘What does climate change really mean?’ in front of staff and other students. All finalists performed incredibly well in the face of a large audience and panel of three judges.
A special congratulations go to the winner, Oscar Barritt and joint runners-up Jacob Haunstetter and Bryn Moore.
In choosing the winner, judges considered delivery and performance, the quality of content, creativity and originality. They were impressed with Oscar’s enthusiastic, confident delivery, ‘mind-blowing detail’ and original use of graphics.
"I was impressed with how well students researched their topic areas of choice and the effort that went into presenting. "
