We were thrilled to welcome our Lower Sixth students for The Lower Sixth Induction Day recently. The event was designed to enable all students to return to school in a positive frame of mind, ready to tackle the challenges of Sixth Form study.
Following a morning of orientation activities for students new to the school, including meeting their tutors and conducting a treasure hunt around the site, we moved to the main event, which involved the whole year group.
All students undertook communication and teamwork tasks to develop help them get to know each other and to start the academic year with a smile. For half of their time, students formed teams to undertake socially-distanced problem solving on the lower field, involving a range of equipment and activities that taxed them both mentally and physically. For the other half of the afternoon, they carried out tasks that involved high-level problem solving with the need for clear communication
We wish the students all the very best for their A-level studies.
