Zain Lam (Second Year) and Finlay Evans (First Year) awarded Merits in the Junior Maths Olympiad Challenge in July.
1200 students took part in the challenge, which consists of a two-hour paper of more in-depth mathematical problems. Zain was only 7 marks from a distinction which would have put him in the top 25% of the best mathematicians who took part in the junior round.
We would like to thank Ms Helen Ward for training the boys for this event in our weekly Hard Sums Club and by putting on extra training sessions in the run up to the competition.
Well done Zain and Finlay!
