Year groups have been enthusiastically taking part in a series of interform challenges over the Easter Break and into the Summer term.
The Junior Year have been creative with entries for a food photography competition and an ‘Art Attack’ challenge to build a model using recyclable materials at home.
Meanwhile, First Year students were challenged to compose a musical piece or song on the theme of ‘Spring’, whilst also taking part in an interform Lego competition to build a model of a flying object.
Mr Hodge, Head of First Year, added: “Keep an eye out for our next interform competition, likely to be announced soon!”
Second Year students drew a self portrait with a non-dominant hand and wrote a piece of poetry, while Third Year have been investigating a philosophical book or film of their choice, with reviews from The Truman Show, The Matrix, The Children Act and Futurama to name a few. They have also completed a ‘plank’ challenge, to keep fit.
Coming up, year groups are taking part in interform Origami, ‘Young Sportswriter of the Year’ and a host of other challenges, encouraged by their tutors and set by their Heads of Year.
Mr Munday, Head of Second Year, was keen to congratulate Finn, Chris and Seamus, who came first, second and third respectively in the Easter holiday poetry competition. Well done also to Daniel, Josh and Kristian for their efforts here, while special bonus points must go to 2D for the most entries!
The First Year interform Lego competition was won by Bryn, with special congratulations too for Josh Brown, who came second. Congratulations also to Jirka, Zak, Daniil, Thabo, Maxwell, Ish and Mattia for their impressive work.
First Year also did us proud with their interform composition competition, with Nathaniel in first place, Isaac coming second and Ayan and Joel in joint third place.
How great to see such industrious endeavour while we all learn new skills during this unusual time. Well done to all those involved.
