Since the beginning of lockdown, hundreds of individual, online music lessons have been delivered by our music teachers to our talented, young musicians.

Students have also been invited to submit video performances for us all to enjoy – with the first of these having been collated into a virtual concert which celebrates this talent and endeavour.

The music department continues to gather the performances it is sent and plans to present a series of these virtual concerts.

The first of these, now available, showcases some of the brilliant work of our younger pupils: Congratulations to Ellis Gates, James, Ayan, Mattia and Shayaan  for helping to brighten up our day! There is even a performance from Darth Vadar.

Any student who wishes to take part in a future concert need only record a video and send it to Mr Swinson, who says: “Whilst it’s sad we don’t get to hear our young musicians every day as we are used to, it’s heartening to know good progress is still being made.”

The first concert is now up and running on planetestream.

We’d like to give it a virtual standing ovation.
