Episodes one and two of The Beast Must Die – the first BritBox original thriller, featuring our very own talented Fourth Year student, Barney Sayburn, were released on the streaming platform, today.

It tells the story of a woman who sets out to murder the man she believes has murdered her son and is based on the classic murder mystery novel of the same name by Nicholas Blake (the nom de plume of Cecil Day-Lewis, father of actor Daniel Day-Lewis).

Barney performs alongside stars such as Jared Harris (The Crown, Chernobyl).

“Essentially, I spent a month on the Isle of Wight, and it felt like my whole life completely changed, in the best possible way,” says Barney. “It was so fun, and a great learning experience. I can’t wait to see the full show myself!”

The show has received a number of positive reviews, with The Telegraph describing it as “a classy, grown-up crime drama”. The first two episodes are released at the same time, this morning, and the final three in weekly instalments.

We can’t wait to watch it, Barney!
