Music competition week 2020

Join us as our talented musicians take part in the first round of our Trinity Music competitions.

The programme for the week is as follows:

Piano 

Monday 3 February, 4.15pm, Trinity Concert Hall

Woodwind and brass

Tuesday 4 February, 4.15pm

Woodwind competition, Recital Hall – adjudicated by Ian Mullin, a professional flautist who has performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players, English National Opera, amongst many others.

Brass competition, Choir Room – adjudicated by John Hutchins, a trumpeter for West End Musicals including Phantom of the Opera. Performs with leading period orchestra’s including Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and The Sixteen. Has regular engagements with the Royal Opera House and English National Opera.

String and guitar

Wednesday 5 February, 4.15pm

String Competition, Recital Hall – adjudicated by Martin Outram, a professor of viola at Royal Academy of Music, London, and violist in the world-acclaimed Maggini Quartet.

Guitar Competition, Choir Room – adjudicated by Tim Pells, a nationally recognised classical guitarist and educator.

Singing

Thursday 6 February, 4.00pm, Recital Hall

Adjudicated by Annie Gill, an in-demand Mezzo-soprano who has sung for leading opera companies across Europe.

All competition events will finish by 7pm latest and will culminate in our Trinity Musician of the Year Recital Competition on Friday 7 February.
