On Thursday, the Lower Sixth were treated to a morning of seminars and talks on study skills by Elevate Education. The sessions, entitled ‘Study Sensei’ and ‘Time Management’ were designed to equip them with the skills necessary to succeed at A-Level – from note-taking, to avoiding proscratination, to effective revision techniques.
Elevate’s study skills workshops and seminars are designed to achieve behavioural change, in recognition of the fact that it isn’t enough that students simply understand what they need to do in their study: the challenge is getting students to use and apply the skills they learn.
“We look forward to seeing how the Lower Sixth put these skills into action over the next few weeks,” said Mr Jed Pietersen, Deputy Head of Sixth Form.
